Couples/Families
Couples and families come to Samaritan Counseling Center to address a wide range of concerns. When a member of a family is troubled, it impacts everyone in the circle of relationships. Sometimes groups/families/couples want to blame an individual within the system as being the source of all their problems or dysfunctions. While individual counseling is an important piece of growing in wholeness, often the larger system is struggling with issues far greater than having one "problem person" in the relationship. Reflecting together on the how the individuals within the couple or family relate to the "problem person," to each other, and their world can reveal dynamics that need to be addressed together, or else the issues will continue without resolution.
Human beings are social by nature. We yearn to be in meaningful, satisfying, and growth-enhancing relationships. It has been said that an indicator of a good relationship between people is that others are uplifted by interacting with them. We do not live in vacuums. By practicing trusting, loving, and giving relationship skills, together we can improve our families and others around us.
