How do I get started?
First, well done on deciding to begin therapy services! This is not an easy decision for many people and for that, we are honored you are considering our staff! Please browse our Staff and Services pages. Once you find a Staff Therapist or service you are interested in, it's time to get registered!
You can complete registration online by visiting https://www.valant.io/prospectivepatient/SCCSEMI
Alternatively, you can call our office at 248-474-4701 to receive assistance with registration or to inquire about services. During registration, we must verify 1) the Staff therapist you wish to work with is currently accepting clients, and 2) can accept your insurance or develop a private pay/sliding fee scale.
If you completed online registration, our office admin team will be in contact with you to get you scheduled and review procedures for beginning services. This involves getting assigned to a Staff Therapist, scheduling your intake appointment, and making sure all necessary forms are completed (Consent forms, insurance release, credit card authorization, HIPAA notifications, and other documents pertaining to care with Samaritan Counseling Center).
Your first appointment is scheduled by our admin team and appointments thereafter are scheduled between you and your Staff therapist. Your Staff therapist is instructed to reach out to you prior to your appointment to confirm how the teletherapy intake appointment will occur (using HIPAA-compliant software and encryption to ensure confidentiality). Some tele-therapy platforms that our Staff therapists are using include Doxy.me, Signal App, Sessions through PsychologyToday, and others at the Staff therapists' discretion.
